Afterwards Reich drove a taxi and constructed a piece out of the tape-recorded conversations of his passengers which he named "Livelihood". He did music for an experimental movie called "Plastic Haircut" using stitched-together fragments from a recording of "The Greatest Moments in Sports" and hung out at the San Francisco Tape Music Center.
