PGR THE MORNING BOOK OF SERPENTS Silent
With recent success in the techno/ambient genre, Silent Records founding father Kim Cascone decided it was time to unearth the past. Cascone made quite a name in the experimental industrial noise scene prior to his ambient notoriety, with his project called PGR. The Morning Book Of Serpents documents PGR material recorded during a period of 1983 until 1993. Included are works which are sparse, minimalistic, atmospheric soundscapes of a dark and brooding nature. What many refer to as Isolationist, PGR were an originator of a sound that is experimental in composition, yet quiet and compelling. These 9 tracks provide an excellent education on what underground electronic music was prior to the techno/ambient explosion. Music for cold, sleepless nights under a thick cloud of solitude. -LoveGrove
