Z'EV: The Hottest Night, C

This is a live performance in San Francisco from 1981 that Z'ev himself claims is one of his best. Here we find the artist doing what he is famous for -- clobbering the hell out of various handmade metal objects in a mesmerizing yet intense manner. I'm not yet familiar enough with his work to say if this is a typical Z'ev effort but I know that patient listeners will find this rewarding. Not just senseless hammering, there is a sense of flow and tonal complexity that draws me in every time I put it on. Not easy, but worth the effort. (Decay Int., P.O.
