San Francisco Contemporary Music Players Fifteenth Season 1989-90

We are celebrating our 15th season! Join us for seven Monday evenings that promise to make musical history.

Begin your concert evening in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art where you'll have the opportunity to see the art in selected galleries for an hour before the music starts. Stop by the Museum Board Room for a pre-concert discussion hosted by Music Director Stephen Mosko to listen and engage in a lively dialogue with guest artists and composers.

Then on the the Green Room for virtuosic and provocative performances of exciting, adventurous new music. This year we present premiers by two young Bay Area composers, Ray Shattenkirk and Daniel Weymouth, as well as SFCMP commissioned works by Steven Mackey and Frederic Rzewski. We welcome soprano extraordinaire Joan La Barbara, composer and flutist Harvey Sollberger, electronic wizard Morton Subotnick, legendary composer Alan Hovhaness, Uruguayan pianist/composer Hector Tosar, and the Bay Area's own creative improvisor Anthony Braxton as collaborators in our series.

Seating is limited, so reserve your tickets now.
