The Vortex is the fantastic follow-up to Quantum Gate, the world's first full-length VirtualCinema CD-ROM, produced by Hyberbole Studios. That "interactive movie" -- viewed on a computer -- takes you to the planet AJ3905 in the year 2057 A.D. through the eyes of the main character, Drew Griffin. Critically acclaimed as "fast-paced, original, and compelling, an audio-visual experience unlike that of any other CD-ROM," Quantum Gate set the standard for this exciting new genre of interactive entertainment.

The Vortex: Quantum Gate II brings back the protagonists and antagonists of that multimedia epic and involves us in guiding their maneuvers as they face new realities and duel with danger. The suspenseful apocalyptic plot is supported by mesmerizing visuals, lush graphic detail -- and a powerfully compelling soundtrack.

Composed, produced, and engineered by Candice Pacheco of D'Cuckoo, The Vortex Soundtrack is historic -- the first feature-length soundtrack created expressly for the new interactive CD-ROM medium. The soundtrack's 15 pieces reflect The Vortex's multi-layered plot and contrasting characters. Its distinctive high energy sound is influenced by musical styles from techno and hip-hop to pop and world music. A virtuoso mix of African and Middle Eastern rhythms, Pygmy chants, state of the art sampling, and exotic percussion celebrate the hippest music in the local galaxy.

Candice Pacheco is a composer, musician, engineer, and inventor who co-founded D'Cuckoo, the techno-tribal multimedia band. D'Cuckoo is recognized internationally for pioneering electronic music technology and interactive performance art. Candice also has recorded with Brian Eno and Mickey Hart.
