SINGLE CELL ORCHESTRA DEAD VENT 7 on Reflective

The debut full length from California's Single Cell Orchestra is a concept album. Dead Vent 7 serves as a soundtrack to a sci-fi script co-written by Single Cell's Miguel Angelo Fierro and Michiel Katz. The basis of the story is the voyage of a reconnaissance vessel hovering above a planet which serves as a missile base. The soundtrack musically chronicles the cosmic adventure, which proves to be quite dark and mysterious. Sparse noise, with vocal manipulations, reflect the eerie void of deep space. The dark ambience is punctuated by mutant jungle breaks, adding an element of chaos. An interesting experiment in sound textures and electronic morphing. -LG
