is a San Francisco bay area musician whose work was discovered by producers Stephen Hill and Anna Turner of public radio's nationally syndicated spacemusic program Music from the Hearts of Space.
Lange's musical background took the time honored route of playing keyboards in several rock and pop bands. With the arrival of practical performance-oriented synthesizers, David's music headed into space. He now composes and creates in a home studio in the Marin county hills filled with the latest digital sampling, MIDI, and digital effects instruments.
Lange's technical mastery of electronic systems allows him to do much of his recording "live to digital" stereo masters. Most of the pieces on Return of the Comet were produced without overdubbing or use of multi-track tape. In addition to the superior sonic quality of this approach, David says it allows him to achieve a more human feel in his music.
