INSECT ART

Giant hissing Madagascar cockroaches will be crawling on composer and performer Miya Masaoka's flesh in Bees Project #2, an inquiry into the problematic relationship of nature, technology and the social construction of race, eroticism, and the body in performance. In addition, Masaoka will be controlling the aural output of 3,000 (the roaches are a tough act to follow) live bees as she performs on the koto. 8 p.m., Intersection for the Arts, 446 Valencia, S.F. $10. (415) 626-3311. (Tompkins)
