CARTER SCHOLZ ROBERT MARSANYI PLAY THE MARSH 878 VALENCIA, SF $5 8 PM, OCT 9 (415) 641 0235
OK, this concert's going to be really worth it. Carter writes pieces with sine tones in intimate tuning relationships with one another; one piece plays with convergence and divergence in a harmonic lattice, one with resolution of two gliding tones, one with long 747 tones. Robert is doing a piece for piano and computers about traditional piano playing, which Carter is performing, and one or two pieces about the qualities of news text with vocal synthesis. Then there's a keyboard duo with computer-generated analysis and resynthesis assists, and time-processor digital feedback. This is the last chance for a while to see us doing this stuff together. You really ought to come.
