MANDIBLE CHATTER (CD by Russell Records). The second CD from a relatively unknown band from San Francisco. Their first one was quite a surprise, with its fine blend of ambient and industrial sounds. Now this second one explores this genre further and the band proves to have grown. Sometimes the sound is quite soft (like the distant sounding flutes on track 3), sometimes harsh like the scraping metal in the 4th track. The group uses a wide array of sounds and instruments, and thus has created a richly varied CD. Can't wait for more. (FdW)
