FACING EDEN: 100 YEARS OF LANDSCAPE ART IN THE BAY AREA at The de Young Museum JUNE 25, 1995 - NOVEMBER 26, 1995
This exhibition, with 175 works of art by 133 artists, dramatically documents how the Eden-like beauty of the San Francisco Bay Area has inspired artists over the past century. This exhibition is the culmination of the de Young Museum's centennial celebration.
Installation of the Zephyr Wind Sculpture
Doug Hollis's Zephyr, 1995, a "grove" of 12 aluminum and steel wind organs, each standing 20 feet high, greets museum-goers with a canopy of sound.
