Wayne Peterson was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in music in 1992 for his piece "The Heart of the Dark," crowning his distinguished career that began in 1958. Mr. Peterson has been Professor of Music at San Francisco State University since 1960 and was recently guest professor of composition at Stanford University. His works have been recorded on the CRI, Grenadilla, and 1750 Arch labels; his music is published by C.F. Peters, Boosey and Hawkes, Seesaw Music, and Lawson-Gould.
