'Sunset Debris', 'Stress Revised', and the 'Automata Caste' are from 'Power and Light'. 'Power and Light' (1983-?0 is a long-term research and development project. The idea is to transmute sound energy using the inner structures of sound and the performance space's response to sound. All the pieces in 'Power & Light' are site interactive, taking all or most of their form from the interplay between computer, performer, and the acoustics of the concert hall.

'Ave Nano' (the first piece in the series) is the most responsive to the acoustic profile of the space in which it is performed, 'Sunset Debris' and 'Stress Revised' the least. The 'Automata Caste' are a subset of 'Power and Light', they are the interludes between the larger pieces, and are interchangeable.

'cc:BTWT' (1984). Vernacular is most quickly absorbed into the language when it is edible. In other words, you speak what you eat. Bruce Lee, extended vocals and percussion.

'N-Ville' (1984-5). For violin, viola, and pitch sensitive electronics. The computer acts as an arbitrator of the composer's intentions and the performers' intuition. The details of form, content, and duration are dependent upon the performers' ability to second guess the computer.

'In Memoriam - Sgt. Rock' (1984). 'Field Burning (Unrelated Segments of Indeterminate Length)' (1985). Descriptions of current events are masked to hinder recognition and avoid responsibility.
