EVERYTHING BUT THE NOMENCLATURE Finding names for his works may not be choreographer Gary Palmer's forte -- the January announcement for tonight's premiere said the work was "as yet untitled" -- but there is nothing wrong with the rest of his imagination, nor with his ability to find collaborators that are able to expand on his visions. Foremost among them is composer Marc Ream, whose nuanced fusions of high tech and world music are among the most skillful around. This displaced San Francisco choreographer has also hooked up with computer designer Wayne Goodrich of NeXT Software and the Pixar Animation Studio who, with Jeff Wilk, has designed the set. After the San Jose premiere Palmer takes the new baby to the Danza Nueva Festival Internacional de Lima, in Peru. Oh, and he finally found a name: MAD GIGS AND BROKEN SHADOWS.
Through April 14. Sat.-Sun., 8 p.m.; Sun., 2 p.m., Montgomery Theatre, West San Carlos and Market Streets, San Jose. $12-$25. (408) 280-1436. (Rita Felciano)
