THE STORK CLUB

The Stork Club is an entirely fabulous club in Oakland California. Following in the footsteps of Merchants and The Heinz Afterworld Lounge, The Stork Club books imaginative and thoroughly indescribable rock and improv/jazz/creative music. The setting differs from New York's historic Stork Club in the vast number of Christmas lights, tinsel and trees which populate this location. Run by the redoubtable Micki and Wes, The Stork Club offers fine drinks, a pool table, and weekend entertainment direct from the outer regions of the resonant psyche.

Your hosts at The Stork Club are Lorrie Murray, who is responsible for booking shows (bands may call 510-658-7269 for info on sending tapes), and Erik Carter, who will gladly take your $5 at the door.

The Stork Club is located at 380 12th Street, at Webster, just two blocks from 12th Street BART. Shows start around 10PM, and often run till nearly 2AM. Usually there's plenty of parking within a block or two. All shows are 21 and over, cover charge of $5 on weekends.
